Thanks for checking it out Mazin! The wider adoption of 5G can only help with getting cloud gaming going, and that process will accelerate for sure. I think by the end of this console generation, given that they are 6–8 years long, you will see a lot of people gaming from the cloud.
As far as true mainstream in the way that consoles have now, that’s going to be somewhat longer I think. The biggest barrier to that is always going to be the availability of it downstream, in the US Midwest and in developing countries where a lot of gaming takes place as well.
I do think there’s at least one more console generation beyond this one, before speeds that can deliver the same experience over the cloud as they do sitting in a box on your TV stand, are ubiquitous enough to make cloud gaming work for everyone.
